Coaching – Q and A with Claudine
Q: What is Coaching?
A: According to the global leader in coach accreditation, the International Coaching Federation, coaching is “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
Q: OK, now in English, please.
A: The goal of coaching is to help people make meaningful changes that allow them to live more fulfilling and satisfying lives. I’ll help you figure out who you want to be, what you want to do about it and how to have fun in the process. I will help you:
• Clarify your personal strengths and development opportunities
• Identify obstacles and fears that are getting in the way of your success and happiness
• Provide objective, confidential feedback
• Establish your vision of success
• Navigate through your challenges
• Achieve clear and measurable goals
• Build your life skills and confidence
Q: Sounds like a cross between a cheerleader and a taskmaster?
A: Sort of. My philosophy is that most people are doing the best they can at a particular time. I can help you figure out what matters most and then help you design a strategy for achieving what you want in a way that is right for you.
Q: How do you do that?
A: I provide clarity to your values, a perspective of “seeing the forest for the trees” and accountability. We’ll identify self-defeating behaviors and give you back your personal power. You are the expert in who you are, and you’ll take ownership of the decision–making and action plan. People and organizations are more likely to be successful this way.
Q: Why should I hire you?
A: Aside from the degrees, accreditations and experience that qualify me professionally, I love what I do. I have helped all kinds of people get “unstuck.” You get to be your authentic self with me. We’ll celebrate both the small successes and reward the big leaps along the way. Humor, story telling and improv are favorites in the creative process. You can also check my “Raves” section for some of my real success stories. If you are tired of sitting on the fence waiting for happiness & success to find you, then call me. I give a free 30-minute introductory session, which makes it even easier for you to decide on “Tap the Joy” and me.
Q: How do you work with clients?
A: If you live in Portland, we have the option to meet in-person. For clients living elsewhere, we may talk by phone or SKYPE and I use email to touch base. You call me from anywhere two to three times a month for 30-60 minutes.
